Update for Week of March 12, 2018
Hello Vikings! This is Principal Johnson with your weekly message.
There will be a NIMPA meeting this Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. in the band room.
Our Board of Education has officially declared Wednesday, March 14, as “Safer Together Day” in all Columbus City Schools.
We know we are safer together when we all work together to prioritize safety, when we act together to protect one another, and when we speak out together about the need to end gun violence.
On Safer Together Day, we will engage students in a variety of activities that promote safety in our school. The day coincides with the Youth EMPOWER National School Walkout. Students who want to be part of this national movement will be allowed to participate in our “17-minute Walk for Peace” around the track in our football stadium. Those who choose not to participate will remain in the building.
We’ll also have additional classroom conversations on ways in which we all play a role in fostering a positive school climate and in keeping everyone in our school community safer.
If you have questions about Wednesday’s Safer Together Day, please call our Main Office. And thank you for your support in our efforts to maintain a learning environment where we are all safer together.
Did you know that our Northland students can receive quality healthcare right here at school through our Nationwide Children's Hospital School Clinic? The clinic is open every Thursday and Friday from 8:30 to 2:30 in room 131. They can provide care and treatment for injuries or illness, immunizations, physicals, and general medical care. For more information, or to make an appointment, call (614) 355-2590.
Those are your announcements for this week. Aspire, Achieve, and Adapt! That’s the Viking Way!
