Principal's Weekly Message

Happy New Year! This is Principal Johnson with your weekly message.

I hope that you and yours had a safe and enjoyable winter break and that your student is ready to return to school focused on academic success.

If your student or your family experienced any trauma over the break that you believe would be helpful for us to know, please contact your child’s school counselor or an administrator.  The more we know, the better we can serve the needs of our students.

There are few upcoming events I would like to share with you.

Tomorrow night at 6:30 p.m. is our monthly parent booster meeting where we discuss ways to support our school.  If you’re interested in helping in any way, please come to the meeting tomorrow evening at 6:30 p.m. in the conference room.

This Wednesday there will be a scholarship application workshop in the library from 2:45 p.m. until 4 p.m.  You can get more information from your counselor or the I Know I Can Advisor, Mrs. Eberhardt.

And next Monday, January 15th there will no school, but Northland is hosting a community MLK Youth Celebration from 3 p.m. until 4 p.m. There will be singing, spoken word, and a dramatic presentation all led by our youth.  Please consider celebrating Dr. King with us at this free event.  That’s next Monday the 15th from 3pm to 4pm in the auditorium.

Our school motto is: Aspire, Achieve, and Adapt! That’s the Viking Way!

Have a great week and Go Vikings!
