Principal's Weekly Message

Hello Vikings!

Welcome to the 2017-18 school year. This is Mr. Johnson and I am proud to serve as your principal again this year. As your principal, it is part of my responsibility to keep parents and guardians informed of what’s happening at Northland. So each Sunday evening around 6pm, please expect a weekly message from me.

We have three important messages tonight.

#1 – The first day of school is this Wednesday, August 23rd and our entire staff is excited about welcoming all of our students. Your class schedule is available on Infinite Campus and will be available in your 1st period class as well. To request a schedule change, simply complete the correct schedule change form and leave it in your counselor’s mailbox. Counselors are not available to make schedule changes on the spot as they are helping new students who don’t a have schedule. So please follow the schedule that’s in Infinite Campus until a change has been made. Be patient. It will all work out.

#2 A new attendance policy takes affect this school year called House Bill 410. It will be extremely important for students to be in attendance every day in order to excel in your classes and meet graduation requirements. If you are in need any additional support or resources to ensure that you are in school every day, please inform a staff member and we will work hard to get you the help you need.

#3 Our Parent Booster Organization is sponsoring a Laundry Detergent Fundraiser that includes members of our football team and cheerleading team. Anyone can place an order with a member of the Parent Boosters, Football, or Cheerleading teams. The cost of the 5lb tube is $40 and the fundraiser will end September 5th. This laundry detergent is comparable to Tide and Gain and will offset the cost of additional uniforms and new equipment for both teams involved. The first Parent Booster Organization meeting is Tuesday, September 5th at 6:30pm here at Northland. Let’s support our student athletes.

Aspire! Achieve! and Adapt! That’s the Viking Way!
