Northland High School is firmly committed to delivering an academically rigorous curriculum through a variety of differentiated instructional strategies, activities that promote active student engagement, a cross-curricular approach to instruction, and the application of learned content to real-world situations.

Northland firmly believes that its most important duty is to ensure 100% student success. In addition, Northland strives to provide a positive learning climate in which constructive, synergistic relationships between all members of the community are developed and fostered.

The curriculum offerings at Northland High School are designed for 100% student success. Ninth and tenth graders can fulfill their English and history credit in a double-blocked Humanities class. Our technology department currently maintains five computer labs. The AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) course is provided at the 9th and 10th grade level. We offer three Foreign Languages: Spanish, Latin, and French. Biology, chemistry, and physics are offered with individual laboratory facilities in each subject.

Advanced Placement courses are offered in biology, English Language and Composition, English Literature and Composition, French, mathematics-calculus, Spanish, studio art-portfolio, and United States History. Kenyon College credit is available at the 11th and 12th grades for political science, African-American history and physics. Northland students are also encouraged to participate in Post-Secondary Enrollment Opportunities (PSEO) at area colleges.
